Thyroxin is a synthetic form of the naturally occurring thyroid hormone T4 (thyroxine). It is used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones to meet the body’s needs.

Product Description:

Thyroxin tablets are a hormone replacement therapy for patients with low levels of thyroid hormone. The medication works by supplementing or replacing the body’s natural thyroxine, helping to regulate metabolism, energy levels, and overall growth and development.

Indications / Uses:

Dosage and Administration:

• Usually taken once daily in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast.
• Dosage varies by age, weight, severity of condition, and response to therapy.
• Regular thyroid function tests (TSH, T3, T4) are required for monitoring and dose adjustment.

Precautions:

• Do not use for weight loss in patients with normal thyroid function.
• Use with caution in patients with heart disease, diabetes, or adrenal gland disorders.
• Take at least 4 hours apart from calcium, iron, and certain antacids, as they may interfere with absorption.
